On December 24, 2015 a project “Inventory of Sergo Kobuladze’s Atelier and Preparation for its Transportation to Tbilisi State Academy of Art” was presented at the conference hall of the George Chubinashvili National Research Centre for Georgian Art History and Heritage Preservation. The project (12.IV-12.VII.2015) was implemented with the support of Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection of Georgia and implied organizing Sergo Kobuladze’s memorial study at Tbilisi State Academy of Art, although so far only the artist’s etching press has been carried to the Academy.
The main idea of the presentation was showing the results of this project, presenting the importance of the discovered material and planning future investigation of the artist’s creative heritage.
The presentation was led by the head of the contemporary art department of the Centre Ph.D Mariam Gachechiladze, who was the supervisor of the project. The other members of the project were:.Junior researchers Tamar Belashvili, Sophio Chitorelidze and Nodar Aronishidze.
Along with the presentation a two-day exhibition named “An Unknown Sergo Kobuladze” was arranged in the exhibition hall “Ars Georgica” of the Centre. There were displayed unknown pieces of art of the artist: sketches, compositions, theatre decorations and theatre costumes and so on.
The presentation of the project showed that Sergo Kobuladze’s creative heritage needs further investigation. At the first stage – during 2016 it is desirable to prepare an album-catalogue “An Unknown Sergo Kobuladze” for edition. It is also planned to present the album at the artist’s retrospective exhibition where there will be gathered the artist’s famous and so far unknown works as well.
The presentation was attended by the representatives of Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection of Georgia, representatives of Museum and Monument Protection Agency and members of society interested in art.

Batumi: Photography exhibition   “OLKAS: From the Aegean to the Black Sea – Medieval Ports in the Maritime Routs of the East”

On December 18, 2015, 17.00 PM in the gallery of the  Centre of Contemporary Art – CAC 41N/41E  (Silk Road Group), Batumi  a photography exhibition was arranged  ” OLKAS: “From the Aegean to the Black Sea” – Medieval Ports in the Maritime Routs of the East”.  The exhibition was arranged in the frames of the EU financed project  “LIMEN: Cultural ports from Aegean to the Black Sea”  http://www.limenproject.net.).
The exhibition was opened by Dr. Mariam  Didebulidze, Director of the Chubinashvili Centre and Dr. Nino Inaishvili, Batumi Shota Rustaveli  State Universitys N.  Berdzenishvili Institute; Ms. Miranda Charkviani, director of the Cultural Heritage Preservation Agency of Ajara
The exhibition was attended by the representatives of the local network of the project:
Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport of Ajara AR;  Batumi  Sea Port;   Department of Tourism and Resorts  of Adjara;  Cultural Heritage Preservation Agency of Ajara;  Batumi Municipality;  Batumi Archeological Museum;   Batumi Shota Rustaveli  State Universitys N.  Berdzenishvili Institute; Batumi Art Teaching University;  Memorial Museum of Khariton Akhvlediani;   NGO Contemprorary Art Center (CAC); NGO “Batomi”;
Also,  mr. Zurab Gelava,  Wihelmsen Ships Service; Dr. Merab Khalvashi, Rector of the  Shota Rustaveli university; Dr. Ermile  Meskhia,  Rector of the Batumi Art Teaching University;  local NGO-s, artists, painters, students etc.
The event was covered by the State TV of Ajara AR.
In the course of  the exhibition the Projects printed materials  (leaflets, Guide, booklets) in three languages  have been presented and disseminated among the audience along with the USB fleshes with the Project Limen information

On December 2,  in the conference hall of the g. Chubinashvili Centre, Dr. Charalampos Chotzakoglou, President of Society of Cypriot Studies, delivered a lecture “Discovering the Byzantine Painting of Cyprus and the relations between Cyprus and Georgia”.

An exhibition “Akaki in the Creative Works of Georgian Artists” dedicated to Akaki Tsereteli’s 175th anniversary of his birth and 100th anniversary of his death was held in the exhibition hall “Ars Georgica” of the G. Chubinashvili Centre on 11-25 November, 2015.The project was carried out by the George Chubinashvili National Research Centre for Georgian Art History and Heritage preservation, financed by the Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection of Georgia and supported by UNESCO.
The exhibition presented pieces of art from the funds of the Shalva Amiranashvili Art Museum and the Dimitri Shevardnadze National Gallery, as well as the works from the George Leonidze Georgian Literature Museum and private collections.
Analyzing the exposition material it became clear to scientists, artists and the society in general that unfortunately, Akaki Tsereteli occupies comparatively modest place in Georgian art history. However, pieces of art presented at the exhibition give the viewers a good opportunity to become acquainted with an absolutely unique material. There were exhibited paintings and easel drawings executed by different artists in different times and samples of book illumination. Among others there were the works of Gigo Zaziashvili, Karapet Grigoriants, Oscar Schmerling, David Kakabadze, Valerian Sidamon-Eristavi, Shalva Kikodze, Ucha Japaridze, Ekaterine Bagdavadze, Tamar Abakelia, Nina Tamamsheva, Alexandre Tsimakuridze, Merab Durglishvili, David (Duda) Gabashvili, Vladimer (Lado) Grigolia, Levan Tsutskiridze, Radish Tordia and Keti Matabeli. Also, there were exhibited works of the less famous illustrators – Temur Pkhikidze and Levan Silagadze. Original works of two artists – Tedo Rekhviashvili and Mirian Chankvetadze, who illustrated Akaki’s new jubilee collection (Akaki Tsereteli, Collection, Tbilisi, 2015) were presented to the public for the first time.
