An exhibition of Ioseb Andriadze and Dimitri Razmadze’s church works.

In a certain way this exhibition was continuation of several exhibitions or seminars dedicated to this theme, which have been held in the Centre this year. Ioseb Andriadze and Dimitri Razmadze’s most of the works had religious character. Debates held in the frames of the exhibition were about the problems and challenges existing in modern church art.

An exhibition of Aleksandre Javakhisvili’s drawings  /19. 10-2.11/

The Centre exhibition space acted as host for a personal exhibition of drawings of a well-known archaeologist, academician Aleksandre (Lali) Javakhishvili (1917-1997). Artisric works of a famous scientist were absolutely unknown to wide society and it was the first time they were exposed.

A personal exhibition of a self-taught sculptor Temur Chilaia /November/

A personal exhibition of a self-taught sculptor Temur Chilaia was held in the Centre exhibition hall. The author presented his works executed in different materials – wood, glass and stone. The works were not only the samples of small size, multi-layer plastic arts, but also academic round statues. The exhibition was significant for popularization of works of an unprofessional, self-taught artist.

Vakhtang Muskhelishvili’s personal exhibition. /September, 7-20/

A painter and a graphic artist Vakhtang Muskhelishvili graduated from Tbilisi State Academy of Art in 1984. Later, for a short time he was a teacher at Art School for children. In the 90s he left Georgia and moved to the United States. That is why it is difficult to connect him to the generation of Georgian artists of the 80s. He still lives in Seattle, State Washington and leads active creative and pedagogical activity. Also, he permanently organizes his personal exhibitions. The artist visits Georgia periodically. In 2013 besides several personal exhibitions, the artist held masterclasses at Tbilisi State Academy of Art. To exhibit the works of such an artist in the exhibition hall of the Centre was very interesting not only from purely professional point of view, but also for popularization of the works  of a Georgian artist living abroad. During the exhibition a seminar-debate with the artist was held.
