Batumi: Photography exhibition “OLKAS: From the Aegean to the Black Sea – Medieval Ports in the Maritime Routs of the East”
On December 18, 2015, 17.00 PM in the gallery of the Centre of Contemporary Art – CAC 41N/41E (Silk Road Group), Batumi a photography exhibition was arranged ” OLKAS: “From the Aegean to the Black Sea” – Medieval Ports in the Maritime Routs of the East”. The exhibition was arranged in the frames of the EU financed project “LIMEN: Cultural ports from Aegean to the Black Sea” http://www.limenproject.net.).
The exhibition was opened by Dr. Mariam Didebulidze, Director of the Chubinashvili Centre and Dr. Nino Inaishvili, Batumi Shota Rustaveli State Universitys N. Berdzenishvili Institute; Ms. Miranda Charkviani, director of the Cultural Heritage Preservation Agency of Ajara
The exhibition was attended by the representatives of the local network of the project:
Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport of Ajara AR; Batumi Sea Port; Department of Tourism and Resorts of Adjara; Cultural Heritage Preservation Agency of Ajara; Batumi Municipality; Batumi Archeological Museum; Batumi Shota Rustaveli State Universitys N. Berdzenishvili Institute; Batumi Art Teaching University; Memorial Museum of Khariton Akhvlediani; NGO Contemprorary Art Center (CAC); NGO “Batomi”;
Also, mr. Zurab Gelava, Wihelmsen Ships Service; Dr. Merab Khalvashi, Rector of the Shota Rustaveli university; Dr. Ermile Meskhia, Rector of the Batumi Art Teaching University; local NGO-s, artists, painters, students etc.
The event was covered by the State TV of Ajara AR.
In the course of the exhibition the Projects printed materials (leaflets, Guide, booklets) in three languages have been presented and disseminated among the audience along with the USB fleshes with the Project Limen information
