OLKAS, from the Aegean to the Black Sea – Medieval Harbours along the Eastern Seaways

The George Chubinashvili National Research Centre for Georgian Art History and Heritage Preservation has taken part in the development and presentation of the project “OLKAS, from the Aegean to the Black Sea – Medieval Harbours along the Eastern Seaways”, based on the international partnership. The project has been presented by Greece (The European Centre of Byzantine and Post-Byzantine Monuments, Thessalonica); participants are scientific institutions of Romania, Turkey, Bulgaria and Ukraine. Duration of the project is 2 years.

In 2011 the project won in the competition held in the framework of “The Black Sea Basin Borderland Collaboration Program” of the European Union (the Black Sea CBC).
In this connection, on May 23 of this year rewarding was held in the building of the government office. Winner projects were awarded diplomas by George Baramidze, state secretary of Georgia in the affairs of integration in the European and Euro Atlantic structures.
